Chilly New Hampshire

It's zero. I have made some strawberry muffins for breakfast from strawberries picked in the heat of summer. And now those same strawberries will warm our chilly toes and souls. Later, I'll paint for something different to do. www.alisonvernon.com

Mentoring, borrowing or stealing?

I study the works of other artists everyday. Occassionally I come across something (a color, a compositional concept, a cloud..) that I have got to try. I know we artists have considered this for generations. As long as we are learning from one another rather than duplicating each other, I see no harm.

Today

The sun is bright and the trees cast shadows like phalo blue bars on the snow. Our puppy isn't getting the house-breaking concept. Nick flies back to London in the snow storm tomorrow so there are questions without answers about his travels. Today is a day "off" so I won't paint today. I owe these days to my family. They feel very odd to me.
